About the program

Established in 2022, Our Golf Program is part of Endeavour Sports High School’s (ESHS) Targeted Sports Program providing students with opportunities to pursue their passion for golf within a supportive, educational setting.

Our elite make-up approximately one third our program within a three-tier model.

· Elite – 4 handicap or better

· Emerging – 5 to 14 handicap

· Developing – 15 to 28 handicap

The Targeted Sports Program in Golf, offers students the unique opportunity to incorporate coaching and training sessions into their school life

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Targeted Sports Program Golf, students must:

Demonstrate an ability and passion for golf

Possess a positive attitude and strong commitment to academic studies

Have a good record of school conduct and behaviour

Special Department of Education exemption while competing in elite competitions

Additional educational and school support while pursuing golfs elite competitions

Homework Club support

Pathways to the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) in the US

Junior membership to Cronulla Golf Club (private golf course located in the southern beachside suburb of Cronulla)

Weekly coaching from PGA Professional

Access to ‘Club One’ indoor training facility – SIM and Putting Lab

Access to Strength & Conditioning

Access to Sports Medicine and Allied Health Services through our High-Performance Unit

Training

Students train on and Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons with optional Strength and Conditioning sessions available before and after school, and lunchtimes.

In Year 9 and 10 strength and conditioning sessions are integrated into students’ timetables.

Tuesday Option 1

1.30 – 2.50pm

Cronulla Golf Course – small group lessons with resident PGA member coach.

Tuesday Option 2

1.10pm

Approved school leave to attend home courses for private coaching and practice.

Thursday

12.10 – 2.50PM

Cronulla Golf Course – group coaching with resident PGA member coach / net, putting and short game practice / playing holes / club competition daylight saving hours.
