Communicating with our school
The following information provides a guide for parents, carers and students about Endeavour Sports High School’s procedures for contacting the school . It outlines the appropriate channels to use to ensure enquiries are directed to the relevant staff members and addressed efficiently.
School Attendance Procedures
It is a legal requirement that the school receives a written explanation from a parent/carer for all absences, late arrivals, and early departures.
Use one of the following methods to notify the school of your child's absence.
Late Arrival Procedure for Students
If a child is absent and there is a reason for this eg Doctors appointment, please email the school explaining the reason and attach a medical certificate and email through to endeavour-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au
All students arriving LATE to school must go to the front office and sign in at the student desk. They will receive a late slip that they take with them to their next period.
A student is LATE when they arrive to class after the start of their first timetabled lesson.
If they do not sign in at the front office, a whole day absence will be recorded on their attendance record, and parents will receive a text message that says they are absent.
Early Departure Procedure for Students
If a student needs to leave school early, their parent or carer must send an email to the school at endeavour-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au with an explanation for their early departure.
The email should include:
- Student's full name and year group
- Date and time of early departure
- Explanation for early departure including any supporting documentation eg medical appointment notification
Students are to go to the office to collect an early leaver slip at the time of their departure, Students will not be permitted to leave the school early unless this procedure is followed.
If students do not follow this process, a truancy may be recorded against their attendance record
Application for Extended Leave
Parents/carers must complete an Application for Extended Leaveform, prior to departure for any leave that is longer than 4 consecutive school days.
Applicants must attach details to application eg Itinerary / flight information, competitive sport details.
